Why Boudoir Photography?
Sometimes I find it hard to put into words why I shoot boudoir photography. To me, boudoir is so much more than photos. A Boudoir Experience is about self-acceptance, body positivity, and it is about seeing your body as the beautiful work of art that it is. It is about getting dolled up by our glam team and laughing your butt off. It’s about the transformation that takes place between the time you walk into my studio and continues long after you walk out that door. It is about feeling beautiful, and that is something I believe3 every women deserves.
I started shooting boudoir photography because I saw the beauty in every women that can in my doors. I believed that I could help everyone see the person I did when I was looking through my camera lens. Women tell me they feel they can’t look “that beautiful” because they feel too tall, weigh too much, or have too many stretch marks. I love getting to show each of them the photos from their photo shoots and showing them that they CAN, in fact, feel beautiful. Seeing their reactions to the photos made me realize that this is exactly where I am supposed to be, here helping women see their beautiful. That is my passion.
The Transformation
The transformations that take place in the studio is the best part of the whole experience. When a woman arrives in my studio, most of the time she is super nervous. Shaking hands, sweating, a worried expression, and other visible signs show when a client is nervous the day of their photo shoot. Once they sit in the chair to get their hair and makeup done, the transformation begins. Each client slowly starts to shed those signs and as we begin the photo shoot, everyone realizes that there is nothing to be scared of!
When the shoot starts, we will start off with some each poses to warm you up. When I show the client the back of the camera after only a few phots, I usually hear “OH MY GOD, is that…me? NO WAY!” As we keep moving into more poses, we will be laughing together while I joke about having to play “furniture tetras” as I move everything around, and give you tons of compliments about how amazing you look. It’s when we start to laugh and relax, is when each client is able to allow her sexy to shine through. That’s when the magic happens.

Body positivity is something that I strongly believe in, but because I had my boudoir experience, I struggled with my self image a lot. I have many self harm scars on my legs from years ago. This personal struggle helped steer me into finding things I was passionate about. That search led me to boudoir photography. I am now not only proud of my body, but proud of the scars I got to get here.
For me, boudoir photography is a celebration of your body and who you are. I take pride in helping women show and see their bodies as beautiful, and celebrating their battles they have been through. Boudoir helped me see the beauty in myself, so let me help you do the same. Let me help remind you how to love and be proud of yourself
